Kriti Sanon made a striking return to the runway at designer Abhinav Mishra’s couture showcase, ‘Into The Wild 2026’, in New Delhi, turning heads in a dramatic black mirror-work lehenga that brought traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design together. Staged beneath the open sky at Mehar Villas in Chattarpur, the presentation combined fashion with an immersive natural setting, complete with falling leaves, lush greenery and towering animal-inspired installations.
Serving as the showstopper, Kriti walked the runway in one of Mishra’s signature creations, featuring intricate hand embroidery, metallic embellishments and sculptural horse motifs. Crafted in Neo-Tech fabric, the ensemble retained the familiar silhouette of a lehenga while introducing modern details that gave it a distinctive edge.
The actress later shared pictures from the fashion show on social media, expressing her excitement about returning to the runway after a long break. “Back on the runway after ages!! Had such a lovely time walking for @AbhinavMishra_ ‘s standalone couture showcase! Loved the signature mirror work and the adorable little horse motifs on my lehenga,” she wrote.
Kriti’s appearance was a highlight of the showcase, which drew inspiration from wildlife, organic shapes and the spirit of exploration. Rather than limiting the collection to conventional bridal silhouettes, Mishra explored a broader wardrobe that combined Indian occasionwear with contemporary fashion.
The designer presented a varied range of looks, including trench coats, structured high-collared jackets, wide-legged trousers, flared pants, layered wraps and three-piece ensembles. Corsets, bustiers, kaftans, capes, high-neck tops and crop T-shirts added further diversity, reflecting an approach that moved between traditional craftsmanship and modern styling.
The collection’s colour palette drew heavily from the natural world, featuring olive green, muted sage, deep brown, rich red, black and dusty neutrals. Animal-inspired prints, oversized floral patterns and organic markings contributed to the collection’s visual identity, while sculptural horse motifs emerged as a recurring design element.
Mirror work, which has become a defining feature of Abhinav Mishra’s design language, played a central role throughout the presentation. The designer combined reflective embellishments with metallic sequins, hand embroidery, Zardozi, beads, leather sequins and laser-cut details. Metal accents, small bells and elaborate ornamentation added texture and movement to the garments.
The venue further reinforced the collection’s concept. Held under a moonlit sky, the show featured branches, foliage, sculptural figures and large animal installations, creating the impression of a fashion presentation unfolding within a stylised wilderness. The open-air setting gave the garments a dramatic backdrop while bringing the collection’s central theme to life.
For Kriti, the showcase also marked a welcome return to runway fashion. Known for her appearances at major fashion events, the actress brought an assured presence to the presentation, allowing the intricate craftsmanship of her outfit to take centre stage.
With ‘Into The Wild 2026’, Abhinav Mishra expanded his signature mirror-work aesthetic beyond traditional festive and bridalwear, experimenting with varied silhouettes and nature-inspired details. Kriti Sanon’s black lehenga captured that blend of heritage and modernity, making her runway appearance one of the standout moments of the couture showcase.
