Bollywood stars Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan are coming together for an exciting new collaboration as they lend their voices to the Hindi-dubbed version of the horror thriller Obsession. Joining them in the promotional campaign is filmmaker Amar Kaushik, who appears alongside the actors in a teaser shared by JioHotstar. The original uncut version of the film is set to stream exclusively on the platform’s Peacock Hub, bringing the horror hit to Indian audiences in both English and Hindi just in time for Halloween.
Announcing the release, JioHotstar shared a playful message on social media: “We wished we could tell you sooner, but where’s the fun in that? Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan, with Amar Kaushik, have been cooking up something we're just a little obsessed with. Obsession: The Original Uncut Version streams 30th October, 7 PM onwards, exclusively on The Peacock Hub on JioHotstar.” The announcement has sparked curiosity among fans, particularly because of the unusual pairing of two popular Bollywood stars for a horror film’s Hindi version.
In the Hindi-dubbed edition, Kriti Sanon voices Nikki, while Varun Dhawan lends his voice to Bear, the film’s central character. The story follows Bear, a music store employee who uses a mysterious object called the One Wish Willow to make his co-worker Nikki fall in love with him. However, what begins as a seemingly romantic wish soon takes a sinister turn, transforming his desire into a disturbing obsession. The film explores how the pursuit of love can spiral into something frightening when desire crosses the line into control.
Directed by Curry Barker, Obsession features Inde Navarrette and Michael Johnston in the original cast. Its unsettling premise and escalating tension have helped it attract attention among horror enthusiasts. For the Hindi version, Kriti and Varun bring familiar voices to the film’s central characters, offering Indian viewers another way to experience its dark storyline. The collaboration also gives audiences a chance to hear the actors in a different creative setting, away from their usual on-screen performances.
Kriti has spoken enthusiastically about the dubbing experience, describing the role as a fun and engaging new challenge. Varun, too, reportedly enjoyed the process, discovering fresh details in the film while working on the Hindi version. Their collaboration marks an interesting addition to their professional association and reunites them in a project that relies on voice performance rather than a traditional on-screen pairing. Amar Kaushik’s presence in the promotional video adds another familiar Bollywood face to the campaign.
With Halloween around the corner, Obsession: The Original Uncut Version is scheduled to premiere on 30 October 2026, from 7 PM onwards, exclusively on The Peacock Hub on JioHotstar. Available in both English and Hindi, the release gives horror fans an opportunity to experience the film in their preferred language. With its unsettling wish-granting premise and the voices of Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan leading the Hindi edition, Obsession is set to bring a chilling dose of suspense to the streaming platform.
