At the trailer launch of Jolly LLB 3 in Kanpur on Wednesday, director Subhash Kapoor opened up about the film, the laughter-filled environment on set, and the possibility of future installments in the beloved courtroom drama franchise.
Kapoor, known for his unique blend of satire and realism, shared the camaraderie he experienced while working with actors Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, and Saurabh Shukla all returning in this third installment.
“The kind of joy you feel while working with Akshay, Arshad, and Saurabh ,you don’t even feel like you’re working,” Kapoor said, smiling. “Every day, nearly 400–500 people would be present on set. And from the moment they arrived, there would be laughter and it wouldn’t stop until the evening. That was the experience.”
Despite the fun atmosphere, Kapoor ensured the filmmaking process stayed disciplined. He explained how he, as the director, had drawn clear boundaries to maintain the integrity of the script.
“Yes, of course, as a director I had drawn a few lines a ‘Lakshman Rekha’ and I told the team not to cross them. What’s written in the script should be followed,” Kapoor said. “And they followed it beautifully.”
Addressing the big question on fans’ minds will the Jolly LLB franchise continue? Kapoor expressed hope and enthusiasm.“As an audience member myself, I feel it should continue,” he said. “Jolly LLB is that kind of film. We keep discussing two or three more script ideas... we keep researching. And as long as the audience keeps giving us love, I am fully confident that this team will keep coming back with more stories and more films.”
Directed by Subhash Kapoor, Jolly LLB 3 brings back both Jollys — Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi in a courtroom face-off, with the ever-iconic Saurabh Shukla reprising his role as the witty and sharp-witted judge. The film promises a mix of courtroom drama, satire, and humor a signature style that has made the franchise a fan favorite.
Produced by Fox Star Studios, the film is set to hit theatres on September 19, 2025.
