Willa has released the official trailer for The Voice of Hind Rajab, a harrowing true-story drama based on the tragic killing of a young girl in Gaza. The film premiered at the 2025 Venice Film Festival, where it won the Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize, and is also Tunisia’s official submission for this year’s Academy Awards.
Directed and written by acclaimed Tunisian filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania (known for Beauty and the Dogs, The Man Who Sold His Skin, and Four Daughters), the film recreates the events of January 29th, 2024, when Red Crescent volunteers received an emergency call from a 5-year-old girl, Hind Rajab, trapped in a car under fire in Gaza. Using the actual audio from the real emergency calls, the volunteers desperately work to coordinate an ambulance and save her life, bringing intense realism and emotional weight to the narrative.
The cast includes Saja Kilani, Motaz Malhees, Amer Hlehel, and Clara Khoury, whose performances capture the tension, urgency, and human compassion at the heart of this true story. The film is produced by Nadim Cheikhrouha, Odessa Rae, and James Wilson, highlighting the collaborative effort behind this moving and politically charged story.
The Voice of Hind Rajab is set for a US theatrical release on December 17th, 2025, giving audiences a chance to witness this gripping story of courage, empathy, and tragedy. The trailer emphasizes both the bravery of the Red Crescent volunteers and the horrifying conditions under which innocent civilians, especially children, suffer in conflict zones.
