In a rare and refreshing display of mutual admiration, filmmaker Mohit Suri has publicly thanked director Sandeep Reddy Vanga for showing early support for his upcoming film Saiyaara. In a heartfelt tweet, Suri wrote, “Sandeep, @imvangasandeep thank you for being the first one to openly support and express your generous belief in Saiyaara... It reminds me why we do what we do—to move people, to connect."

This unexpected moment of cinematic camaraderie comes just days after Vanga, the mind behind intense, polarizing films like Arjun Reddy and Animal, tweeted praise for Saiyaara’s trailer. “Witnessing a Hindi heartland love story completely emphasizing on romance and drama. Waiting to watch it on the first day,” he posted, calling it “purely Mohit Suri’s magic.”

The two directors—though stylistically worlds apart—are now linked by a shared appreciation for emotional storytelling. While Suri is known for sweeping romance-dramas like Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain, Vanga is infamous (and lauded) for his raw, often aggressive explorations of masculinity and obsession. That Vanga found something special in Saiyaara is a striking testament to the film’s emotional potency.

Saiyaara, produced by Yash Raj Films, introduces Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in a poetic love story about a broken musician and a gentle poet. Loosely inspired by the 2004 Korean film A Moment To Remember, it weaves themes of love, loss, and memory into a classic Mohit Suri tapestry—complete with a soul-stirring soundtrack and heartfelt drama.

While the film industry often sees filmmakers divided along stylistic lines, this open exchange between Suri and Vanga breaks that mold—proving that good storytelling transcends genre. It also sets a powerful example of mutual respect in an industry often defined by rivalry rather than recognition.

Meanwhile, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is immersed in his next action-heavy project, Spirit, starring Prabhas and Tripti Dimri. As for Saiyaara, with Vanga’s stamp of approval and Suri’s emotionally charged signature all over it, the film just became one of the most intriguing releases to watch out for this year.

Whether you're drawn to passion or pain, rage or romance—this unusual filmmaker friendship promises a celebration of all things cinema.
