Break out the black lace and sharpen your sarcasm—Netflix just dropped a deliciously spooky new promo for Wednesday Season 2, and it’s everything fans of the deadpan darling could’ve hoped for. The gothic halls of Nevermore Academy have had a bit of a glow-up, and this time around, they come with even more secrets, skeletons, and snark.
In the fun new teaser, Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday offers a bleakly charming tour of the “new” Nevermore—complete with cobweb couture and ghostly gossip. But don’t be fooled by the promo’s cheeky tone—there’s bone-chilling drama ahead.
Season 2 sees Wednesday return with her trademark deadpan brilliance, navigating twisted friendships, complicated family ties, and an all-new supernatural enigma that’s more tangled than a spiderweb in a thunderstorm. Between dodging secret societies, uncovering cryptic threats, and (begrudgingly) bonding with classmates, she’s got her gloved hands full once again.
The returning cast includes Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Luis Guzmán, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Hunter Doohan, while newcomers like Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, and Joonas Suotamo are set to bring even more eccentric energy to the school year. Not to mention, legends Fred Armisen, Christopher Lloyd, and others are also along for the wild ride.
Developed by Tim Burton and created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, this season continues the stylish, spooky storytelling that made Wednesday an instant hit. With Burton back in the director’s chair alongside Paco Cabezas and Angela Robinson, expect more of that gothic flair mixed with modern-day angst.
Netflix is releasing Wednesday Season 2 in two parts — Part 1 drops August 6th, 2025, followed by Part 2 on September 3rd, 2025. Double the Wednesdays. Double the wicked.
