At the trailer launch of Dhadak 2, Siddhant Chaturvedi gave a moving and honest reflection on what the film means to him—both as an actor and as a person. For someone who has largely played urban roles so far, Dhadak 2 offered him the rare opportunity to go back to his roots and bring a deeply personal story to life.“As an actor, I consider it my good fortune to have a producer like Karan Johar who placed his faith in me. Until now, all the films I’ve done have been urban. But I come from a small town—Ballia. I hadn’t gotten the chance to tell that kind of story.”
“By the end of this film, I felt completely emptied out. Shazia (the director) extracted so much from me. But I was happy—it felt fulfilling. I feel very, very lucky.”he added.
Calling Dhadak 2 a passion project, Siddhant added:“This film is very special to me. I’ve poured my heart into it.”
He emphasized that every role he takes on is a responsibility—one he doesn’t take lightly.“Whether it’s a character or a film, for me, every project is a responsibility. I want to do justice to it.”
When asked about playing a character from a small town, he revealed how much it resonated with him:“I’ve lived that life. I’m still deeply connected to it. For a long time, I hadn’t come across a script that gave me the chance to portray that truth. But this one did. It was a blessing.”
The biggest learning for Siddhant during Dhadak 2 came from the emotional strength of his character:“One thing I truly learnt from this film is resilience—an inner strength that says: ‘I will not be moved from my place.’ Some people step back under pressure. But this character never does. And I related to that, because to make your place in the world, you don’t have to leave your ground.”
