Actor Ravi Kishan, who plays VD Tyagi in the hit series Mamla Legal Hai, has praised Netflix for its focus on stories from the Hindi heartland, highlighting the platform’s role in bringing regional narratives to a pan-India audience.
Speaking to the media during the launch of Mamla Legal Hai Season 2, Kishan said, “I want to thank Netflix from the bottom of my heart for this beautiful show. The way Netflix has entered the pan-India market, especially the Hindi heartland, with 'Laapataa Ladies,' is a very welcome move, and we will not disappoint. Our entire team has worked very hard and with great dedication.”
Netflix fans now have reason to celebrate as the series returns for a second season in 2026. Known for its quirky courtroom drama, satirical take on real-life incidents, and memorable performances, Mamla Legal Hai captured the imagination of audiences across the heartland during its first season.
Ravi Kishan expressed his excitement about the upcoming season: “This show gave me a fantastic kick, and it was very surprising. First of all, I want to thank everyone who made the first season such a massive hit. So, it will be a big surprise for all those people. It has comedy, and while touching upon real-life events and true incidents, it also presents some very beautiful and emotional things. So, Rahul Dave directed and wrote this show very well. I got a fantastic kick from it, and the kick was that all of us actors got so beautifully immersed in it, in such a natural flow. The writing is excellent. So, this show, because of its good writing, will give a wonderful kick, and people will not be disappointed.”
He further added, “The people who were addicted to the first season will definitely wait for the second season and will be completely satisfied. They will feel a great sense of peace, thinking, ‘Wow!’”
Season 2 will see VD Tyagi’s journey evolve from an ambitious lawyer to a newly appointed Judge at the Patparganj District Court. Kishan reprises his role alongside Nidhi Bisht, Naila Grewal, Anant V Joshi, Anjum Batra, with Kusha Kapila and Dinesh Lal Yadav joining the ensemble.
The new season promises more chaotic and bizarre cases inspired by true incidents, maintaining the satirical and light-hearted tone that made the first season a fan favorite.
