The Stree universe just grew a fresh pair of fangs. Maddock Films has unveiled a striking new poster for their upcoming supernatural romance Thamma, declaring, “Stree aa rahi hain aur apne saath ek bada THAMMAKA la rahi hain.” With a special launch event planned at Bandra Fort Amphitheatre on September 26, this Diwali promises more than just fireworks—it promises blood, love, and a lot of laughs.
Shifting from folk-horror to fanged romance, Thamma marks a bold expansion of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the film is being billed as a vampire-meets-romcom spectacle, leaning more into genre-blending mischief than straight-up scares. In an earlier interview, Sarpotdar hinted that Thamma is less about haunting and more about heart—with just enough bite to keep things interesting.
The trailer will be unveiled live at Bandra Fort by none other than Shraddha Kapoor, returning in some form to the universe that began with Stree. The venue, a historic open-air amphitheatre known for hosting some of Mumbai’s most culturally rich events, adds a theatrical flair to the film's already high-voltage promotion.
Starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles, the film pairs two actors with sharply contrasting energies—his quick wit and her rising-star charm. Khurrana’s fans are hoping this role fuels his comeback streak, while Mandanna’s casting signals a deliberate push by Maddock to break formula and give new textures to genre films.
The poster? A vivid blend of gothic-meets-glam—candles, moonlight, a shadowed kiss, and blood-red text spelling out the tagline: “A Bloody Love Story.” If there’s one thing Thamma is promising, it’s that love doesn’t just hurt... it leaves a mark.
This Diwali, Maddock isn’t just lighting diyas—it’s lighting up a whole new side of the horror universe. Fangs out, hearts open.
