The Durga Puja spirit illuminated Mumbai again as the 79th North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja welcomed some of the biggest celebrities in town. Organized with its characteristic grandness and cultural enthusiasm, this year's event in Juhu became a family gathering, a nostalgic get-together, and a glitzy spectacle — all combined.
Some of the biggest stars attending the pandal included Rani Mukerji, Kajol Devgn, Tanisha Mukerji, and Ayan Mukerji. The Mukerji family, a long-time favorite of this revered puja, were spotted praying, taking part in rituals, and interacting with warmth towards fans and fellow believers. Rani, wearing a simple yet elegant sari, reflected ageless beauty, while Kajol infused the festival with her trademark enthusiasm and charm. Ayan Mukerji, a low-key public figure, participated in the family affair, bringing a muted star presence to the celebration.
Joining the galaxy of stars was Genelia D'Souza, who appeared alone and was a vision in her ethnic outfit. Her beaming smile and humility stole the show as she participated in the rituals with true devotion. With her peppery screen presence, Genelia easily merged into the spiritual and familial ambiance of the pandal.
Also in sight was actress and comedian Sumona Chakravarti, a frequent face at the city's culture and festive gatherings. Attired in traditional wear, Sumona imbibed the celebratory atmosphere and engaged in the rituals with gusto. Her presence brought an aura of familiarity and warmth to the assembly.
The North Bombay Durga Puja, known for its rich cultural programs and deep-rooted Bengali traditions, once again proved to be a melting pot of devotion, nostalgia, and celebrity glamour. As the beats of the dhak echoed through the air and the scent of incense mingled with festive laughter, it was clear that the goddess wasn’t the only one being celebrated — so was community, culture, and the enduring magic of Mumbai’s film fraternity.
