Tanvi The Great is not only winning critical acclaim but also introducing the industry to a promising new talent — debutante Shubhangi Dutt, who plays the title role of Tanvi Raina. The young actress graced a special screening of the film for specially-abled children in Mumbai last night, where she interacted with the media and shared her overwhelming emotions.
Reacting to the audience’s warm response to her performance, an elated Shubhangi said, “This is a huge compliment for me. I am getting so much love, and this is my first movie. This is just inspiring and motivating. I am feeling motivated that I keep on doing such performances and I keep on getting love from the audience. What more could you ask for in life?”
Shubhangi also expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to screen the film for children, noting how the experience brought back memories of her own childhood. “We take inspiration and motivation from kids, and now to see them so excited and happy, I am feeling good and happy. I am reminded of my childhood. I’m feeling grateful that I am getting an opportunity to meet such great kids. They are watching themselves on the screen, and I think that is wonderful and motivating,” she added.
Directed by Anupam Kher and produced by Anupam Kher Studio in collaboration with NFDC, Tanvi The Great is the poignant story of a 21-year-old autistic woman who dreams of joining the Indian Army to fulfill her late father’s wish. The film’s ensemble cast includes Anupam Kher, Iain Glen, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Pallavi Joshi, Karan Tacker, Nassar, Joanna Ashka, and more.
With a powerful performance in her very first film, Shubhangi Dutt is clearly one to watch — and Tanvi The Great is just the beginning of what promises to be a luminous journey ahead.
