Actor Sanjay Dutt was spotted arriving at Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday morning to visit veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, whose recent hospitalisation has sparked concern across the film industry. Dutt, who shares a long-standing bond with the Khan family, entered the premises dressed in a black-and-white printed shirt paired with jeans. He reportedly spent around half an hour inside before quietly exiting without addressing the media gathered outside.
Salim Khan’s family has remained by his side ever since he was admitted. Superstar Salman Khan has been present at the hospital along with his mother Salma Khan and Helen. Siblings and close family members including Arpita Khan, Ayush Sharma, Alvira Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Sshura Khan, Arhaan Khan, Nirvan Khan, Ayaan Agnihotri, and Iulia Vantur have also been seen at the facility, underlining the gravity of the situation and the family’s united front.
Widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in Hindi cinema, Salim Khan’s contribution to Bollywood remains unparalleled. As one half of the legendary Salim–Javed duo alongside Javed Akhtar, he helped shape the golden era of the 1970s and 1980s. Together, they delivered iconic films such as Sholay, Zanjeer, Deewaar, and Trishul—stories that redefined mainstream storytelling and resonated with generations of moviegoers.
Salim–Javed’s work is especially credited with popularising the ‘Angry Young Man’ archetype in Indian cinema, a persona that became symbolic of socio-political unrest and youthful rebellion. Their narratives not only transformed leading men into cultural icons but also shifted the dynamics of screenplay writing in Bollywood, placing writers firmly in the spotlight.
Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan have long shared a close personal and professional relationship, often referring to each other as brothers. Their collaborations include films like Saajan, Chal Mere Bhai, and Yeh Hai Jalwa, as well as co-hosting the fifth season of Bigg Boss. Dutt’s visit highlights the deep camaraderie shared between the two families beyond the silver screen.
Throughout the day, several friends and well-wishers were seen arriving at the hospital, reinforcing the strong support network surrounding Salim Khan. While media personnel remain stationed outside, the family has maintained privacy regarding his treatment and prognosis.
