The muhurat ceremony of the upcoming horror film The Wardrobe took place with much excitement as lead actors Rajniesh Duggal and Divya Agarwal officially marked the beginning of the shoot. Directed by Saurabh Choubey, the film promises to deliver a chilling, no-nonsense horror experience—and not the usual horror-comedy hybrid we’re used to seeing.
This marks Rajniesh Duggal’s return to the horror genre after his memorable role in 1920, and the actor revealed it was the backstory of the spirit that sealed the deal for him. “It’s layered, emotional, and haunting in a way that stays with you,” he shared. Divya Agarwal, choosing The Wardrobe as her comeback to horror post-Ragini MMS, said it was the unusual connection between the wardrobe and the horror plot that made it stand out. “It’s not just a prop—it’s a character in itself,” she teased.
The story features two child characters, who have already slipped into their roles so well that they’ve begun calling Rajniesh and Divya "mumma" and "papa" on set—adding an eerie meta layer to an already atmospheric setup. Director Saurabh Choubey emphasized that the film will rely less on VFX and more on realism, leaning into natural scares and grounded storytelling.
