Those words kick off the explosive new official trailer for Peacemaker Season 2, unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con, teasing a wild new ride that dives into alternate dimensions, second chances, and of course, a whole lot of chaotic justice.
Returning on August 21, 2025, exclusively on Max, the second season of James Gunn’s acclaimed DC spin-off picks up exactly where it left off—John Cena returns as Christopher Smith, aka Peacemaker, still grappling with the weight of his past while hilariously and violently trying to do the right thing. “Making peace with yourself is harder than it looks,” he admits in the trailer, hinting that the season will dig deeper into the psychological side of the gun-toting antihero.
But this time, the stakes are higher—and weirder. Chris stumbles into a dimensional portal, launching the story into parallel worlds, including one in which—much to his surprise—people actually like him. That twist opens up a whole new playground for Gunn’s signature brand of irreverent, character-driven storytelling.
The ensemble cast returns with Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, Steve Agee, and Robert Patrick, joined this season by newcomers Frank Grillo, David Denman, Sol Rodriguez, Tim Meadows, and Nhut Le as Judomaster. Behind the camera, Gunn is joined by directors Greg Mottola, Peter Sollett, and Althea Jones, promising a cinematic quality to the season’s multiverse-fueled action.
