Paramvir Cheema, recognized for his work in Tabbar and Black Warrant, is set to make a significant mark with Border 2, and his journey from the small screen to the big stage has been inspiring.
Reflecting on his early days in Mumbai, Cheema said, “Back in Punjab, everyone told me I was smart and good-looking, and I thought making it in Mumbai would be easy. But standing in those long audition lines, I realized everyone was talented, good-looking, and had a great physique. Six months’ savings felt like too little time, but luck was on my side—I got my first job, and that’s how my journey began.”
Cheema’s breakthrough came with Tabbar, which earned him industry recognition. “Tabbar was the turning point. After Black Warrant, people started noticing me everywhere. Friends and peers began saying, ‘Who is this guy? He’s doing such a great job!’ It gave me the confidence to aim higher,” he shared.
Joining Border 2 initially made him nervous. “With such a big cast, I was scared I might get lost. Plus, this role required a turban, and I worried about being typecast. But Anurag sir encouraged me to audition and even asked me to try Haryanvi dialogue reading. That’s when I knew this was going to be something special,” Cheema revealed.
His audition impressed the team instantly. “The casting associate said no one had given such a good audition before. Anurag sir assured me, ‘You won’t be wasted.’ And truly, every scene on set was an opportunity to shine,” he added.
Border 2 brings together a stellar ensemble including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty. Cheema’s pivotal role promises intensity, authenticity, and emotional depth, reinforcing his rising stature in Bollywood. From a struggling newcomer to a recognized talent, Paramvir Cheema’s journey adds a layer of grit and determination to the film, setting high expectations for audiences ahead of its theatrical release.
