Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty and his son Namashi Chakraborty have officially announced two upcoming web series under their home banner MYRND Movies, marking a clear and confident move into the OTT space. The announcement highlights a family-led creative pivot, with Namashi stepping into both acting and directing roles as the banner expands its digital storytelling ambitions.
The first project, MessTerpiece, is a slice-of-life romantic comedy set in Mumbai and stars Namashi Chakraborty alongside Resham Shahani. Directed by Namashi himself along with Shrikant Watts, the series promises a breezy, chaotic take on modern relationships in the city. The recently revealed poster, featuring the lead pair in a playful, paint-smeared embrace, perfectly captures the show’s youthful and colorful tone. Filming is scheduled to begin in June 2026.
The second announcement, Stories Of Fear, shifts gears dramatically into darker territory. Designed as a 10-part anthology series, the show explores themes of fear, fright, and deeply rooted phobias. Each episode is expected to tap into psychological and emotional horror, aligning with the growing appetite for episodic scares on Indian OTT platforms.
Directed by Sachin Karande and written by Shweta Bothra and Swapnil Raje, Stories Of Fear will begin filming in July 2026. Its intense and moody first look hints at unsettling narratives that focus on human vulnerability rather than jump scares alone, positioning the series as a potentially strong addition to the horror anthology genre.
With MessTerpiece and Stories Of Fear, MYRND Movies showcases a diverse creative slate—one rooted in romance and realism, the other in psychological darkness. The twin announcements underline Mithun Chakraborty’s evolving legacy and Namashi Chakraborty’s growing presence as a new-generation storyteller in the OTT-driven entertainment landscape.
