In a moment of deep grief, actor Mannara Chopra, along with her sister Mitali Handa and family, bid a final farewell to their father, Raman Rai Handa, who passed away on June 16 at the age of 72.
The last rites were performed today at the Crematorium Ground in Amboli, Andheri West, Mumbai, with close family members, friends, and several industry colleagues in attendance to pay their respects.
Raman Rai Handa, a respected lawyer at the Delhi High Court, is survived by his wife Kamini Chopra Handa and daughters Mannara and Mitali. Kamini is the paternal aunt of global icons Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra, and the extended families have often come together to celebrate festivals, birthdays, and milestones.
According to sources close to the family, Mr. Handa had been unwell for a few days due to undisclosed health reasons before his passing.
Mannara Chopra, known for her Bollywood debut in Zid, later found her footing in the South Indian film industry, with appearances in films like Thikka, Rogue, and Sita. The loss of her father marks a deeply personal and emotional chapter in her life.
The Chopra and Handa families have requested privacy as they grieve this profound loss.
