A mythological spectacle is on its way to the big screen, and it promises to dazzle with both devotion and digital artistry. Contiloe Pictures, the studio behind acclaimed productions like State of Siege: Temple Attack and Taj: Reign of Revenge, has just dropped the official 3D trailer of its upcoming animated feature film – “Mahayoddha Rama”.
Scheduled for a grand theatrical release on October 17, 2025, right in time for Diwali, the film aims to retell the timeless saga of Lord Rama with cutting-edge animation, a star-studded voice cast, and a cinematic vision rooted in Indian mythology.
One of the biggest talking points of the trailer is the voice cast, featuring a stellar lineup of Bollywood talent. Kunal Kapoor lends his voice to the noble and valiant Lord Rama. Jimmy Shergill takes on the role of loyal and courageous Lord Laxman. Mouni Roy voices the graceful and resilient Maa Sita. Gulshan Grover, known for his intense on-screen presence, becomes the formidable Ravana.
The character animations are striking, and the performances, even in voice, seem poised to add emotional depth and gravity to this epic retelling.
“Mahayoddha Rama” is directed by Raizada Rohit Jaising Vaid, whose vision appears to blend modern animation techniques with traditional storytelling. The film is presented by Abhimanyu Singh and Roopali Singh, reinforcing the producers’ commitment to high-quality, culturally rooted content.
The musical score is another major attraction. Composers Aadesh Shrivastava and Souvyk Chakraborty bring a layered, powerful background to the action and drama, while the legendary Javed Akhtar pens the lyrics, promising poetic resonance and timeless appeal.
The film will be distributed by Cinépolis India, ensuring a wide theatrical rollout across the country. With the increasing popularity of animated features and a growing appetite for mythological stories told through modern lenses, Mahayoddha Rama could become a landmark film in the Indian animation space.
Mahayoddha Rama looks set to redefine how Indian mythology is brought to life on screen. With a fusion of traditional narrative and next-gen visuals, it’s a Diwali release that could appeal to audiences of all ages — from those who grew up hearing the Ramayana to a new generation ready to experience it through the magic of 3D animation.
