Maddock Films has officially dropped the teaser for Thama, the latest addition to its ever-expanding Horror-Comedy Universe. The teaser, shared with the caption "Na darr kabhi itna shaktishaali tha, aur na pyaar kabhi itna BLOODY!", sets the tone for a film that blends romance, comedy, and just the right amount of dread—marking a notable shift in the genre.
Slated for a Diwali 2025 release, Thama stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles, with powerhouse performers Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal in key supporting parts. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, the film promises a cinematic experience that’s both genre-bending and emotionally charged.
Unlike previous entries in the Maddock Horror-Comedy Universe—Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya—which leaned more toward supernatural scares with a comedic twist, Thama focuses on an intense, unconventional love story at its core. In the teaser, glimpses of blood-soaked romance and eerie charm reveal a film that is as much about passion as it is about paranormal oddities.
Director Aditya Sarpotdar has confirmed that Thama will be a tonal departure, aiming to surprise audiences with an emotional undercurrent that has not been fully explored in the franchise until now. It's a bold move that could redefine what the Maddock universe stands for—a horror-comedy space where heartfelt storytelling finds a place alongside the laughs and thrills.
With a rich ensemble, atmospheric visuals, and a Diwali release window, Thama is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated genre films of the year. As the teaser suggests, this Diwali, audiences won't just be scared—they’ll fall in love, perhaps dangerously so.
