While promoting the much-anticipated anthology Metro In Dino, veteran actor Anupam Kher opened up about the timeless—and ever-evolving—nature of love, the very theme at the heart of this film.
When asked if falling in love is simpler or more complex for today’s Gen Z, Anupam thoughtfully replied, “I don’t think we should pass any judgment on anyone. Love is a very personal feeling. If you’re asking me if I will be able to do that [fall in love in the modern way], not really. You can call me old fashioned; I believe in the whole process. I might have fallen in love with different people over the years, but the process has been the same.”
He also pointed out a common misconception: “The problem with us is that we look at love from just one angle.” He explained that love isn’t only about romance—there are many shades, including the love between best friends. “I have a best friend, and we have fought so much, but each time we would start all over again.”
Metro In Dino, written and directed by Anurag Basu and produced by T-Series Films alongside Anurag Basu Productions, is a spiritual sequel to Basu’s Life in a... Metro (2007). This anthology tells four intimate stories of contemporary couples navigating the complexities of modern relationships. The film stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta, and Anupam Kher himself.
Get ready to dive into the many facets of love when Metro In Dino releases in cinemas on July 4, 2025.
