Actor Kay Kay Menon recently opened up about the challenges of portraying RAW agent Himmat Singh in the upcoming series Special Ops 2. Speaking at the trailer launch event, Kay Kay admitted, “I am not even in KG class of cyber, I don’t know anything about it, frankly speaking, as Kay Kay Menon. So to play Himmat Singh, who knows everything about cyber and everything else, is quite a task.” His candidness revealed the effort required to convincingly embody a character deeply versed in cyber-terrorism and espionage.
Kay Kay credited director Neeraj Pandey and the rest of the team for helping him navigate the complex cyber themes. “I ask people when I post on social media, I ask them how it’s to be done and stuff like that, I am that bad, so if you like the performance, I am bloody good at it then,” he joked, highlighting the steep learning curve involved. His dedication reflects the meticulous approach taken to make the espionage thriller authentic and engaging.
Special Ops 2 serves as a sequel to the 2020 hit Special Ops and follows the spin-off Special Ops 1.5: The Himmat Story (2021). The series reunites Kay Kay Menon with co-stars like Karan Tacker, Vinay Pathak, Muzammil Ibrahim, Saiyami Kher, and Tahir Raj Bhasin. Together, they face a new kind of threat — cyber-terrorism — which makes the stakes higher and the danger more invisible than ever before.
The series spotlights contemporary issues such as artificial intelligence, massive data breaches, and India’s vulnerability as the world’s largest UPI user. Himmat Singh leads his trusted team against this digital menace, where “everyone is a target.” Special Ops 2 is set to premiere on Jio Hotstar on June 11, 2025, promising a gripping and timely thriller for viewers.
