At the recent teaser launch of 120 Bahadur, newcomer Sparsh Walia, making his Bollywood debut alongside Farhan Akhtar, spoke passionately about his experience portraying one of the brave hearts behind the true story of the Battle of Rezang La. He emphasized how rare it is for this chapter of history to reach public consciousness—and how deeply grateful he feels to be part of bringing it to screens.
“This film feels surreal. We’ve heard about many wars and battles, but few people know about the Battle of Rezang La—what really happened there,” Walia shared. “How 120 soldiers fought when conditions were completely against them—without proper clothing, without equipment… This story is extremely important, and now we’re telling it for the world to see.”
Choosing to be part of this film has had a profound impact on Walia, both personally and professionally. “I feel very, very lucky. Being part of this story is a significant matter—it’s a huge responsibility to justify their contribution. Experiencing the journey of this film, I realized how responsible this role is. I’m still working on that responsibility—understanding the sacrifices our soldiers make from abandoning personal life to serving the nation.”
Sparsh Walia underscored the larger purpose behind war films like 120 Bahadur—to inspire younger generations and deepen awareness of the sacrifices made for the country's independence. “War films are crucial because they inspire youth. It’s vital for them to know how our soldiers served with unmatched bravery—that today we sit here in independent India only because of their sacrifices.”
120 Bahadur, produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment along with Trigger Happy Studios’ Amit Chandrra, is based on the real-life Battle of Rezang La during the 1962 Indo-China War. The story depicts how 120 Indian soldiers stood their ground against overwhelming odds—an untold chapter of courage and valor.
Alongside debutant Sparsh Walia, the film features a powerful ensemble including Raashii Khanna, Ajinkya Ramesh Deo, Vivan Bhatena, Ankit Siwach, and more. Directed by Razneesh Ghai, the film is scheduled to release in theatres on November 21, 2025.
