In a recent conversation, the actor opened up about the thought process behind his role selection and how he views success in the film industry.
"It feels like I put in all my dedication and hard work into every role," Anshumaan says. "Whatever I’ve understood about this path, this journey — I try to choose work according to my intellectual ability and what resonates with me."
Reflecting on the definition of success, the actor shared a refreshingly humble perspective: "For people like us, who come into acting without a conventional path and have to find our way — even getting the work itself is a big success. Being part of such big projects is a huge achievement in itself. The audience then makes that success even bigger with their love."
Pushkar is quick to deflect credit from himself and instead emphasizes the collaborative nature of storytelling: "I can’t say I have all the wisdom. Somehow, I’ve been lucky — this is a director’s medium, and I’ve had the good fortune of working with some of the finest directors and writers. They created these meaningful projects, and I got the opportunity to be associated with them. I truly thank them for that. Their contribution has played a huge role in any success I’ve seen."
Talking about how deeply he connects with the roles he plays, he adds: "I fall in love with the characters I portray. I try to stay close to them, live around them, understand them. That’s what drives me."
