Actor Eijaz Khan, who plays a pivotal role as an army officer in the upcoming war drama 120 Bahadur, opened up during the teaser launch event and gave a raw, heartfelt — and slightly humorous — account of what it was like filming in extreme conditions for such an emotionally charged project.
Reflecting on his preparation for portraying a real-life soldier, Eijaz said, “It’s been an honor and privilege to be a part of this film. First and foremost, there’s a lot of responsibility when you’re trying to portray a real-life hero, especially someone from the army. I don’t come from an army background, but luckily, our director Razy Saab does. So I had full blinders on and complete faith in him — and a very good beard to go along.”
While his words began on a respectful note, he didn’t shy away from sharing the brutally honest side of the shoot.
“I thought I was fit — at least a fit 50-year-old man. But when you shoot in Ladakh, your ego dies there,” he laughed.
“On just the second day of the shoot, I almost had a heart attack. I was holding my director’s hand in an ambulance, asking, ‘Will I make it?’”
Despite the health scare, Khan credited the team for ensuring safety and support throughout the production. “We were well taken care of, in an amazing way. It was a great experience shooting over there,” he concluded.
Directed by Razneesh Ghai, 120 Bahadur tells the real-life story of the Battle of Rezang La, highlighting the bravery of 120 Indian soldiers, led by Major Shaitan Singh, against overwhelming Chinese forces in 1962. With Farhan Akhtar in the lead and a powerhouse supporting cast, the film is set to release on November 21, 2025.
