Veteran actor, BJP MP, and Dharmendra’s second wife, Hema Malini, hosted a heartfelt prayer meeting in Delhi to honor the late superstar, who passed away on November 24 at the age of 89. The gathering took place at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre on Janpath, New Delhi, and saw the presence of family members, political leaders, and Bollywood personalities paying tribute to the legendary actor.
High-profile attendees included Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Hema Malini spoke warmly about Dharmendra’s character, saying, “His personality was immense, limitless. He was simple, easygoing, cheerful, and sociable. Despite his fame, he never considered himself aloof. He always remained grounded, and this was a quality that everyone admired.”
She further highlighted the superstar’s humility and kindness, adding, “Regardless of their class, whether young or old, rich or poor, friends or strangers, he treated everyone with love, affection, and respect. Dharamji was such a person.” Her tribute captured both the personal and public dimensions of Dharmendra’s life, reflecting the love and admiration he commanded across generations.
