As Farzi completes three years since its explosive debut, creators Raj & DK decided to celebrate the milestone the best way possible—by sending fans into a frenzy. Marking the anniversary, the director duo shared a sneak peek of Farzi Season 2 with a poster captioned, “Second batch… WIP… #Farzi,” instantly confirming that the much-awaited follow-up is very much in progress.
The poster itself is classic Farzi energy. Featuring graffiti-style text reading “Round 2. In Progress.” splashed over stacks of Indian currency notes, the visual cleverly nods to the show’s counterfeit money core. It’s gritty, playful, and perfectly on-brand, reminding fans why the series struck such a strong chord when it first dropped on Amazon Prime Video in 2023.
Created, written, and directed by Raj & DK, Farzi starred Shahid Kapoor as a disillusioned artist who stumbles into the dangerous world of fake currency. The black comedy crime thriller blended dark humor with edge-of-the-seat suspense, earning comparisons to the duo’s other hit series, The Family Man. With Vijay Sethupathi, Kay Kay Menon, Raashii Khanna, and Bhuvan Arora rounding out the cast, the show became an instant streaming phenomenon.
Interestingly, Farzi began its journey as a film idea back in 2014 before evolving into a full-fledged web series by 2019. Shot across Mumbai, Goa, Alibaug, Nepal, and Jordan, the show boasted slick production values, music by Sachin–Jigar and Tanishk Bagchi, and a gripping score by Ketan Sodha. Its shared universe with The Family Man only added to fan intrigue and theory-building.
Released on February 10, 2023, the eight-episode series emerged as the most-watched Indian streaming show of its time and went on to earn 10 nominations at the Filmfare OTT Awards.
