20th Century Studios has officially unveiled the trailer for Eenie Meanie, an upcoming action-comedy written and directed by Shawn Simmons, best known for creating the series Wayne. The film stars Samara Weaving as a former teenage getaway driver who gets pulled back into a chaotic life of crime when she’s offered a high-stakes deal she can’t refuse.
The story revolves around Weaving’s character, once infamously known as “Eenie Meanie,” who has tried to leave her dangerous past behind. But things spiral when a former employer reappears with an urgent proposal: drive the crew for a risky casino heist to help save the life of her reckless ex-boyfriend. The twist? The ex is chronically unreliable and very possibly not worth saving.
As seen in the trailer, Eenie Meanie is a fast-paced blend of stylized action, quick wit, and offbeat characters. The tone strikes a balance between high-octane getaway sequences and absurd, laugh-out-loud comedy. With Simmons at the helm, the film promises a fresh take on the heist genre, focusing more on characters with complicated pasts and even messier relationships.
Alongside Weaving, the film features a colorful ensemble cast including Karl Glusman, Jermaine Fowler, Steve Zahn, Andy Garcia, Randall Park, Marshawn Lynch, and Mike O'Malley. Their performances, as hinted in the trailer, will bring energy, unpredictability, and a few surprises to this high-stakes, high-speed ride.
Slated for theatrical release on August 22, 2025, Eenie Meanie is revving up to be one of the most entertaining action comedies of the year. Whether you’re in it for the laughs, the heist thrills, or just to see Samara Weaving behind the wheel again, this wild ride is one to watch out for.
