In a dramatic escalation that has sent shockwaves through Bollywood, actor-filmmaker Divya Khosla has released a private phone conversation with veteran producer Mukesh Bhatt, accusing unnamed “industry groups” of sabotaging her career and suppressing genuine talent.

The controversy rooted in her earlier claim that the Alia Bhatt film Jigra mirrored the storyline of her 2024 thriller Savi has resurfaced with renewed intensity following Divya’s decision to go public.

Sharing a long, emotional note on Instagram, Divya revealed that she felt “compelled” to release the telephonic conversation after discovering what she described as “disturbing” truths about how narratives are allegedly engineered within the industry.

In her post, she wrote: “I am deeply shocked by this revelation. What I have recently discovered is disturbing and heartbreaking… Unfortunately, I am left with no choice but to put out the telephonic conversation between Mr. Mukesh Bhatt and me so people can hear for themselves how certain groups attempt to sabotage careers and push genuine talent out. It is time we speak up. It is time we call out the industry mafia. I will raise my voice — and I will fight this out.”

Her words have intensified a long-standing debate around hierarchy, lobbying, and alleged gatekeeping practices in Bollywood.

The audio clip shared by Divya captures a tense but composed exchange. In it, Divya expresses her disappointment over multiple media reports claiming she manufactured controversy around Jigra’s release to gain publicity—reports she says surfaced on her birthday, adding to the emotional burden.

Divya repeatedly asks Mukesh Bhatt whether he made statements against her. Bhatt is heard denying any involvement, insisting he had not spoken to the media. He suggests the negative articles were “backlash from another camp,” hinting that the stories were strategically planted to discredit her. At one point, Bhatt is heard telling Divya to “rise above this”, reassuring her that such attempts were intended to disturb her and should not affect her spirit.

Divya responds emotionally, expressing respect for him but also admitting deep hurt over how the situation unfolded.

The feud originally surfaced in 2024 when Divya accused the makers of Jigra of copying the core storyline of Savi, which starred her alongside Harshvardhan Rane. Mukesh Bhatt had publicly dismissed her allegations as a publicity stunt—a remark that now stands at the center of Divya’s grievance.

With the release of the phone recording, Divya has revived the debate and presented what she sees as proof that she has been unfairly targeted. Jigra, featuring Alia Bhatt, released amid high expectations but ultimately underperformed at the box office, prompting speculation about behind-the-scenes tensions. Divya now suggests the narrative around the film and the subsequent targeting of her was part of a larger attempt to silence dissent.

Divya’s bold step has revived conversations about power dynamics within Bollywood—an issue that resurfaces every few years but rarely with such direct evidence. Her decision to publicly confront an established producer marks one of the most significant challenges to the industry’s alleged inner networks in recent times.

Whether this revelation triggers meaningful change or simply fuels another cycle of online debate remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Divya Khosla has reopened a conversation many believed was fading—and she shows no intention of stepping back.
