Kunal Khemu recently opened up about being perceived as an underrated actor, saying he views it as a positive position.
During the trailer launch of Single Papa, we asked Kunal about his perception of being underrated as he has lot of offer, and he said, "I believe, everyone feels that they have not reached their full potential, and I feel happy that along with me, you all feel that, it’s a good position to be in. If this question came the other way round, if I feel I am overrated, I would have sunk in the floor.”
“But I am trying, I am just focused on my work, and I am trying to make it better. I think, the best thing about time or the worst thing about time is that it never remains the same, it keeps on changing. I am waiting for the chance that I can get and prove that I am slightly more than an underrated actor" added Kunal.
Khemu was speaking at the trailer launch of the upcoming series Single Papa, attended by co-stars Neha Dhupia, Prajakta Koli, Manoj Pahwa, and others. Created and co-produced by Ishita Moitra and Neeraj Udhwani, with Shashank Khaitan as executive producer, the series is directed by Khaitan, Hitesh Kewalya, and Neeraj Udhwani, and produced under Juggernaut Productions by Aditya Pittie and Samar Khan.
The trailer introduces Kunal Khemu as Gaurav Gahlot, a single dad juggling parenthood alongside life’s ups and downs. From diaper disasters to unsolicited advice from relatives and friends, Gaurav’s journey is filled with humorous mishaps and heartfelt moments, capturing the everyday realities of modern parenting.
Single Papa explores themes of family, love, and the unpredictable nature of raising a child, highlighting the chaos, warmth, and humor of an Indian household. Through its mix of comedy and emotional resonance, the series portrays the resilience and heart of a father navigating single parenthood.
Alongside Khemu, the cast includes Manoj Pahwa, Neha Dhupia as the assertive Romilla Nehra, Prajakta Koli as Gaurav’s sister Namrata, and Ayesha Raza, all contributing to a story that promises relatable, heartfelt, and often hilarious depictions of family life.
