Nandamuri Balakrishna is getting ready to bring his trademark mass energy back to the big screen with his upcoming action entertainer, now officially titled DADA. Director Gopichandh Malineni unveiled the film’s striking poster along with a title glimpse, instantly setting the tone for what looks like a gritty, high-voltage gangster drama. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on December 24, 2026, making it one of the major Telugu releases lined up for the Christmas holiday.

Sharing the title reveal, Gopichandh Malineni wrote, “Call him DADA. Christ-MASS is coming… See you all on Dec 24th :)” The playful “Christ-MASS” line fits perfectly with the film’s larger-than-life promotional style while teasing a celebration of mass cinema during the festive season. The announcement quickly generated strong buzz online, with the title glimpse drawing more than 330,000 views shortly after its release.

The first-look material gives DADA a distinctly rugged identity. Balakrishna appears in sunglasses, a leather jacket and a prominent gold chain, surrounded by rain-soaked streets, intense red lighting and an atmosphere dripping with gangster drama. In one of the key visuals, the veteran star is seen wielding a weapon, reinforcing the film’s promise of hard-hitting action and larger-than-life moments. The overall presentation suggests that Malineni is aiming squarely at the mass audience while giving Balakrishna another powerful character to own.

DADA brings together an interesting combination of talent behind and in front of the camera. Gopichandh Malineni is directing the film, with Thaman S handling the music. Kajal Aggarwal is paired opposite Balakrishna, while Manchu Manoj is also part of the cast. Produced by Vriddhi Cinemas, the project has been positioned as a big-scale Telugu action entertainer, with the promotional campaign already leaning heavily into the film’s gangster-flavoured world.

The December 24 release date could also make the film part of an interesting holiday-season box-office battle. DADA is expected to face competition from Nagarjuna Akkineni’s King100, setting up a potentially exciting clash for Telugu moviegoers during the festive period. With both films carrying major stars and ambitious commercial expectations, the Christmas weekend could turn into a genuine box-office contest.

For Balakrishna fans, however, the immediate attraction is simple: DADA promises action, attitude and plenty of mass appeal. The combination of Malineni’s commercial filmmaking style, Thaman’s music and Balakrishna’s screen presence has already created curiosity around the project. If the title glimpse is anything to go by, DADA is preparing to make a loud entrance when it storms into theatres on December 24, 2026.
