ZEE5 has set the stage for a high-stakes crime thriller with its upcoming original Bhagwat, starring Arshad Warsi and Jitendra Kumar in a powerful new collaboration. The platform recently dropped a gripping motion poster with the caption: “And we thought all the plot twists of 2025 were over, but the biggest one is here… Bhagwat is coming to blow your mind.” Promising a dark, twist-filled ride inspired by true events, Bhagwat is shaping up to be one of ZEE5’s most ambitious offerings yet.
The thriller centers on a missing woman case, pulling audiences into a maze of secrets, lies, and moral ambiguity. While plot details remain under wraps, the tone is clear: intense, layered, and rooted in realism. Arshad Warsi, fresh off buzz from Jolly LLB 3, takes on what looks like a darker, more dramatic role—marking a return to the kind of complex characters fans first fell in love with. On the other side of the law, or perhaps aligned with him, is Jitendra Kumar, best known for his warm, relatable turn in Panchayat. Bhagwat will be his most intense departure from comedy to date—and fans are here for it.
Produced by Jio Studios, Baweja Studios, and DognBone Pictures, the project brings together a stellar creative team including director Akshay Shere and producer Harman Baweja, with music by Mangesh Dhakde and editing by Hemal Kothari. The ensemble cast also includes Ayesha Kanga, Tara Alisha Berry, and Rashmi Rajput, hinting at a layered narrative with multiple perspectives.
Streaming soon exclusively on ZEE5, Bhagwat taps into the growing appetite for character-driven thrillers in Indian digital content. As platforms lean into socially relevant and psychologically rich storytelling, Bhagwat appears poised to strike that perfect balance between suspense and substance. With a seasoned actor and a rising star at the helm, this could be the unexpected hit of the year.
