Debutante Agastya Nanda and co-star Simar Bhatia were spotted at Mumbai Airport recently as they jetted off for city-wide promotions of their upcoming film Ikkis. Agastya Nanda, grandson of Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, sported a casual yet stylish look in denim, a black jacket, and glasses, while Simar Bhatia, daughter of Alka Bhatia (Akshay Kumar’s sister and a film producer), kept it comfy in baggy jeans and a t-shirt.
Ikkis is a poignant biographical war drama based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient, who attained martyrdom at the age of 21 during the Battle of Basantar in the 1971 Indo-Pak War. The film’s title, Ikkis, signifies the age at which Khetarpal sacrificed his life while displaying unmatched courage and valor.
Directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Binny Padda, the film also stars Dharmendra in his posthumous appearance and Jaideep Ahlawat. The story not only chronicles Arun Khetarpal’s heroic acts on the battlefield but also explores events decades later when Brigadier ML Khetarpal visits Pakistan, adding a reflective dimension to the narrative.
With its theatrical release scheduled for 25 December 2025, Ikkis will hit screens on Christmas Day, just nine days after the 54th death anniversary of Arun Khetarpal. The timing adds an emotional resonance to the film, making it a tribute to the young war hero and his legacy.
As promotions gain momentum, fans and cinema enthusiasts alike are eagerly awaiting Ikkis, anticipating a heartfelt portrayal of courage, patriotism, and the extraordinary life of one of India’s bravest soldiers.
