Directed by Razneesh “Razy” Ghai, the film sees Akhtar portraying the legendary Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, Param Vir Chakra awardee, who led just 120 soldiers in a historic defense of Ladakh against a massive Chinese offensive.
Slated for a theatrical release on November 21, 2025, the film is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under Excel Entertainment, alongside Amit Chandrra of Trigger Happy Studios. The teaser, which drops on August 5, is already generating buzz as it marks Farhan Akhtar’s much-anticipated return after a hiatus, and brings to life an untold chapter of Indian military valor with cinematic urgency.
The production, shot across Ladakh, Rajasthan, and Mumbai, spared no effort in recreating the harsh, high-altitude war zones. With filming at altitudes of 14,000 feet and in temperatures as low as –10°C, the crew prioritized authenticity and scale. To elevate the battle sequences, the filmmakers brought in the Oscar-winning action team behind All Quiet on the Western Front and collaborated with Snow Business, the UK-based experts in creating large-scale winter war environments.
