Tubi has unveiled the official trailer for Stepfather, an upcoming psychological thriller that puts a dark twist on the idea of the perfect family. Set to premiere on June 19, 2026, the film stars Taye Diggs as Darnell, a man whose obsession with creating an ideal family slowly reveals a far more dangerous reality lurking beneath the surface.
The story follows Darnell as he marries Asia, played by Tamar Braxton, and settles into life with her and her daughters. At first, everything appears picture-perfect, but unsettling behavior and growing suspicion soon begin to fracture the family's sense of security. As Asia starts uncovering disturbing secrets tied to Darnell's past relationships, she realizes the man she welcomed into her home may be far more threatening than she ever imagined.
The newly released trailer leans heavily into psychological tension, teasing a suspense-filled cat-and-mouse game inside the family home. With paranoia mounting and danger closing in, the women find themselves questioning whether they can escape before Darnell's violent tendencies are fully unleashed. The film promises a mix of emotional drama, mystery, and edge-of-your-seat thrills.
Directed by Chris Stokes and written by Marques Houston and Chris Stokes, Stepfather features a supporting cast that includes Kalani Jules, Jessica Jarrell, Janeline Hayes, Dante Brown, Troy Brookins, TJ Shaw, Koda Kalani Beschen, and Elizabeth Dantus. With its unsettling premise and strong lead performances, Stepfather looks poised to deliver a tense thriller experience for streaming audiences when it arrives on Tubi this June.
