After a noticeable break from the screen, popular television and film actor Sharad Malhotra is all set to make a powerful comeback — and this time, it’s going to be bigger than ever. The actor, who had been keeping a low profile, will soon be seen in not one but multiple web series.
Talking about his upcoming work, Sharad shared his excitement: "I have completed two to three web series. Audiences will get to see me very shortly. For all those fans who were waiting for me, they are now going to see a lot of me — back to back!" He added, "For some time, I wanted to give myself some space. I was also working on a few things. But now, I'm going to be seen a lot more — that’s for sure."
The actor was recently spotted at the special screening of a short film on Fragile X Syndrome, a rare genetic condition that affects intellectual and communicative abilities. Sharad not only attended the event but also expressed his appreciation for the awareness the film aims to create.
"This was the first time I heard about Fragile X Syndrome," Sharad admitted candidly. "When I came across it, I tried to read and understand it. From what I gathered, it’s a very rare genetic disorder. Statistically, it affects around 2-3% in India, and globally it’s around 5%. It impacts intellectual ability and speech. What I understood is that it’s somewhat on the lines of autism as well."
The actor lauded the filmmakers for shedding light on such an important but often overlooked issue:"Bringing forward a subject like this and helping us understand it is a very commendable step by the makers. As an actor, as a common person, and as someone from the media family — I believe it’s important that everyone is made aware of this. The term is quite rare, and the fact that this short film has brought attention to it is truly praiseworthy. Hats off to Rajneesh and everyone involved in the project."
Sharad also emphasized the importance of not just understanding the condition but also working toward solutions: "I hope that through such short films, the message reaches more people. How we can identify this condition, and even if it can’t be cured, how it can be prevented, that’s something we need to focus on."
As Sharad gears up to dominate digital platforms once again, it’s heartening to see him using his presence not just for entertainment, but also to contribute meaningfully to society. Fans have missed him and now, they have every reason to celebrate his return.
