The Jagran Film Festival 2026 brought together some of the biggest names from the Indian film industry as its Mumbai chapter concluded with a star-studded gathering at Cinepolis, Fun Republic Mall in Andheri West. Filmmakers, veteran actors and emerging stars came together to celebrate cinema, creativity and outstanding contributions to the industry. Rohit Shetty, David Dhawan, Bobby Deol, Rajat Bedi, Vedang Raina and Imtiaz Ali were among the familiar faces spotted at the event, making the red carpet a memorable affair.
Bobby Deol was one of the major attractions of the evening. The actor made a much-anticipated appearance and was honoured with the prestigious JFF Achiever's Award. His presence added to the excitement surrounding the festival, as fans and photographers gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor. Rajat Bedi was also spotted at the event, including alongside Bobby, creating a special moment for fans who enjoy seeing familiar faces from different generations of Hindi cinema together.
Filmmaker Rohit Shetty also attended the festival for an emotional and significant reason. He accepted a special legacy award on behalf of his late father, M.B. Shetty, the legendary action director and actor whose contribution to Indian cinema remains memorable. Rohit also participated in a panel discussion, reflecting on his personal journey and evolution as a commercial filmmaker. The moment offered an opportunity to celebrate his father's legacy while recognising Rohit's own journey in the film industry.
The festival also had a special moment for Tisca Chopra, as her project Saali Mohabbat received the award for Best Film (OTT). Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar was honoured in recognition of the 25-year milestone of one of his landmark films. These recognitions highlighted the festival's focus on celebrating different forms of filmmaking and the creative contributions of artists across the industry.
The red carpet featured an interesting mix of established filmmakers and younger stars. Veteran comedy filmmaker David Dhawan made an appearance, while Imtiaz Ali and young actor Vedang Raina were also among those spotted at the gathering. Their presence reflected the festival's ability to bring together personalities from different generations and creative backgrounds. The event offered plenty of opportunities for cinema lovers to see celebrated names share the same platform.
Beyond the award presentations and celebrity arrivals, the four-day festival featured masterclasses and panel discussions with prominent creative personalities, including Pankaj Tripathi, Saurabh Sachdeva, Sriram Raghavan and Aanand L. Rai. These sessions gave audiences an opportunity to hear filmmakers and actors discuss their experiences, creative processes and journeys in cinema.
Organised by the Jagran Prakashan Group, the Jagran Film Festival is known as a travelling film festival that aims to bring Indian, independent and international cinema to audiences across the country, including smaller towns. The 2026 edition continued that mission while celebrating industry achievements through screenings, conversations and awards. With appearances by Rohit Shetty, Bobby Deol, David Dhawan, Rajat Bedi and Vedang Raina, along with special honours for notable contributors, the Mumbai chapter concluded on a celebratory note.
