The popular Scam franchise is returning with another gripping chapter, and this time the story moves beyond the world of financial fraud to explore the rise of one of India's most influential business empires. Applause Entertainment has announced SCAM 2010: The Subrata Roy Saga, teasing a dramatic account of the man behind the Sahara Group. The makers shared a short promotional video along with the announcement, promising a story driven by ambition, faith, money and influence. Directed by Hansal Mehta, the upcoming series is scheduled to stream on Sony LIV in January 2027.

Announcing the new instalment on social media, Applause Entertainment wrote, “Pranaam, SCAM is back! And this time, it’s more than just about the money. SCAM 2010  Streaming this January on Sony LIV.” The announcement has already generated curiosity among viewers familiar with the franchise, particularly because the new story explores the journey of Subrata Roy and the rise of the Sahara empire. Rather than focusing only on financial controversies, the series is expected to examine the larger story of ambition, public trust and the influence Roy built over the years.

The approximately 20-second promotional video offers a brief but intriguing glimpse into the series. Actor Siddharth Bodke appears as Subrata Roy, bringing the central figure to life in a story filled with dramatic moments and references to the Sahara empire. Hindi dialogues about risk and daring add intensity to the teaser, while the visuals hint at the scale of the world the series intends to portray. The promotional clip concludes with the title card confirming Hansal Mehta as director and January 2027 as the streaming window on Sony LIV. Although the teaser does not reveal much about the complete storyline, it establishes the dramatic tone of the upcoming production.

SCAM 2010 is based on Tamal Bandyopadhyay's book Sahara: The Untold Story, which examines the rise of the Sahara Group and the story surrounding its founder. Subrata Roy built a vast business organisation with interests across multiple sectors and became a prominent name in India's corporate landscape. His journey, however, was also marked by major financial controversies and legal battles. By bringing this story to the screen, the new series aims to explore a complex chapter of India's business history through a dramatic narrative.

The project continues the anthology format established by the earlier instalments. The first season, Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, focused on stockbroker Harshad Mehta and became a major success with audiences. It was followed by Scam 2003: The Telgi Story, which explored the stamp paper scam associated with Abdul Karim Telgi. With SCAM 2010, the franchise turns its attention to Subrata Roy, introducing another real-life story shaped by wealth, power and controversy.

Produced by Birla Studios and Applause Entertainment, the series brings Hansal Mehta back to the franchise as director. The new chapter is expected to attract viewers who enjoyed the earlier seasons as well as audiences interested in real-life business stories. With Siddharth Bodke portraying Subrata Roy and the teaser offering a glimpse of the Sahara empire, SCAM 2010: The Subrata Roy Saga is building anticipation ahead of its Sony LIV premiere in January 2027.
