The trailer of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is finally out, and if you thought the plot — two exes teaming up to ruin their former partners’ weddings — was spicy, wait till you hear what happened off-screen! At the trailer launch event, Varun Dhawan brought more drama than the film’s scriptwriters could’ve hoped for, spilling some unexpected personal tea that had everyone’s ears perked.
When asked if he’s ever tried to sabotage an ex’s love life in real life (like his character in the film), Varun took a quick detour and turned the spotlight on director Shashank Khaitan. “To go and break an ex’s wedding is pretty crazy… but I think Shashank has done it!” he said with a grin, throwing his director under the drama bus. “When Shashank broke up with Nalini, you made sure she didn’t date someone else,” Varun added, while Shashank tried (and failed) to keep a straight face.
“I didn’t do nothing, no one wants to know what I did — I have a kid at home,” Shashank replied, probably wishing the conversation would move on. But Varun wasn’t done just yet.
Eventually, the actor shared a memorable moment from his own past: “I think I’ve been used by someone to get back at her ex,” he admitted. “She was a supermodel, I won’t name her. She was double my height. Her ex was dancing with someone else, and she asked me to dance. But the whole time, she wasn’t even looking at me — she was staring over my head at her ex! Kept giving him looks. Eventually, she got back with him.” Oof, Varun — short king, tall heartbreak.
Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Dharma Productions and Mentor Disciple Entertainment, stars Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Maniesh Paul, and Akshay Oberoi. The film is all set for a Dussehra release on 2nd October 2025, and if the real-life drama is anything to go by, the on-screen fireworks are going to be unmissable.
