Sony Pictures has finally unveiled the first teaser trailer for The Social Reckoning, the highly anticipated follow-up to David Fincher's acclaimed 2010 drama The Social Network. While the original film explored the rise of Facebook and its controversial founder, the new movie shifts focus to one of the company's most explosive chapters, bringing the story behind the Facebook Files to theaters this fall.

Aaron Sorkin returns to the franchise, but this time he is pulling double duty as both writer and director. Described as a companion piece rather than a traditional sequel, The Social Reckoning follows Frances Haugen, a young Facebook engineer who decides to expose the company's internal secrets. Teaming up with Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz, she embarks on a risky journey that ultimately sparks one of the biggest whistleblower stories in recent tech history.

The film boasts an impressive cast led by Mikey Madison as Haugen and Jeremy Allen White as Horwitz. Wunmi Mosaku, Betty Gilpin, Billy Magnussen, Bill Burr, and Jeremy Strong also star, with Strong portraying Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg as the company faces mounting scrutiny over its practices and influence.

Inspired by true events and based on the revelations that fueled the Wall Street Journal's groundbreaking Facebook Files investigation, the film promises a tense and timely look at the power of social media and the people who challenged it. The teaser's tagline, "Every revolution begins with a reckoning," hints at the high-stakes drama awaiting audiences.

The Social Reckoning arrives exclusively in theaters on October 9, 2026, and is already shaping up to be one of the most talked-about releases of the year.
