The makers of Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming film Ramayana have released ‘Mangal Rang’, a song celebrating the wedding of Lord Rama and Maa Sita. Composed by AR Rahman, the song is available in five languages — Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam — bringing the musical offering to audiences across different parts of the country. The Hindi version features the voices of Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal, with lyrics penned by Dr. Kumar Vishwas. The song brings together some of India’s most recognised musical talents for a sequence centred on the relationship between Rama and Sita, played by Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, respectively.

Each language version features a different set of singers. Abhay Jodhpurkar and Saindhavi have performed the Tamil version, while Raghav Kaushik and Vaishali Samant have lent their voices to the Telugu rendition. Armaan Malik and Bela Shende have sung the Kannada version, and Naresh Iyer and Amritha Rajan have performed the Malayalam track. The song has been released on YouTube and music streaming platforms, allowing listeners to experience the composition in their preferred language.

Visually, ‘Mangal Rang’ moves through several important moments in Rama and Sita’s story. The sequence includes glimpses of their wedding, scenes from palace life and moments from their journey during Vanvas. The visuals also show Rama carrying his bow and arrow and sword, set against expansive landscapes that add to the scale of the film. Rather than focusing solely on the wedding celebrations, the song offers a broader look at the couple’s journey together. The combination of music, costumes and large-scale settings provides an early glimpse of how the filmmakers are approaching the epic’s familiar characters and events.

Ramayana features a prominent ensemble cast, with Yash playing Ravana, Sunny Deol appearing as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey portraying Lakshman. The film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari, known for films such as Dangal and Chhichhore.

The ambitious project is being produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Planned as a two-part cinematic adaptation, the film aims to bring the Indian epic to audiences on a global scale.

‘Ramayana: Part 1’ is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026. The second instalment is planned for release during Diwali 2027.

With ‘Mangal Rang’, the makers have offered audiences another look at the film ahead of its theatrical debut. The release across five languages also highlights the production’s effort to reach a broad audience while bringing a story deeply rooted in Indian cultural tradition to the big screen.
