The much-awaited Gujarati film Umbarro, directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Abhishek (known for the success of Hellaro), is all set to captivate audiences this Republic Day weekend. The official trailer for Umbarro has just dropped, offering a glimpse of its intriguing storyline, and the film is slated for release on January 24, 2025, just in time for the long weekend.
Umbarro features an ensemble cast with some of the brightest stars in Gujarati cinema, including Vandana Pathak, Kaajal Oza Vaidya, Sucheeta Trivedi, Deeksha Joshi, Tarjanee, Tejal Panchasara, and Vineeta M Joshi. Alongside these leading actresses, Aarjav Trivedi, Sanjay Galsar, and Parle Patel also play pivotal roles, bringing even more talent and depth to the film.
The story follows the journey of seven women from rural Gujarat who embark on their first international trip to London. Along the way, they confront cultural clashes, language barriers, and societal stigmas, ultimately seeking to carve out a space for themselves in a world that often marginalizes them. Umbarro promises to be a deeply moving and empowering narrative, tackling themes of self-discovery and breaking societal norms.
Produced by Sanjay Chhabria and Falguni Patel, with co-production by Amit Bhanushali, Umbarro is brought to the audience by Iraada Studioz and Falguni Sheth. The film will be distributed by PVR INOX Pictures, ensuring a wide release across India.
