Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 Team Seeks Divine Blessings in Rishikesh with Ganga Aarti Ceremony

After much anticipation, the beloved rom-com universe of Ginny Wedss Sunny is officially expanding! The makers recently announced that the first schedule of Ginny Weds Sunny 2 has kicked off, bringing together an exciting new on-screen pair — Avinash Tiwary and Medha Shankar. Ever since the announcement, fans have been buzzing with excitement to see this fresh jodi bring a new story to life.
 
Currently shooting in the scenic locales of Uttarakhand, the team took a soulful pause from their filming schedule today to perform a special Ganga Aarti in Rishikesh, seeking divine blessings for the film’s success. The spiritual ceremony, held at the banks of the Ganges, saw the cast and crew come together in a heartfelt moment of gratitude and hope, symbolizing a positive start for the journey ahead.
 
Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 is the official sequel to the 2020 Netflix hit Ginny Weds Sunny, which starred Yami Gautam and Vikrant Massey. The film was widely appreciated for its feel-good narrative, peppy music, and charming performances. While the original focused on arranged marriage mishaps and unexpected love, the second installment promises a new-age twist to love stories, set against the vibrant backdrop of North India.
 
Taking over the director’s chair this time is Prasshant Jha .The project is being produced by Vinod Bachchan under the banner of Soundrya Productions, continuing the creative legacy of the franchise.
 
Avinash Tiwary, known for his intense performances in films like Bulbbul and Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, joins hands with Medha Shankar, who impressed audiences with her breakout role in 12th Fail. Together, they are set to bring a fresh spark and emotional depth to the beloved romantic-comedy format.
 
While plot details are still under wraps, sources hint that the sequel will explore modern relationships, second chances, and the idea of finding love in the most unexpected places.
