Actor Esha Deol shared a heartfelt and emotional message after her father, legendary actor Dharmendra, was posthumously honoured with the prestigious Padma Vibhushan. The award, regarded as India’s second-highest civilian honour, was conferred in recognition of his extraordinary contribution to Indian cinema and the arts.

The emotional ceremony took place at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where President Droupadi Murmu presented the award to veteran actress Hema Malini on behalf of the late superstar. The moment turned deeply emotional for the Deol family as they remembered the iconic actor, who passed away in November 2025 at the age of 89.

In her note, Esha reflected on how much the family wished Dharmendra could have personally attended the ceremony. She remembered him as always looking elegant in his signature white shirt and blue suit, carrying the excitement and innocence of a young boy despite his legendary status. Her words painted a touching image of a father deeply loved and admired by his family.

The actress also shared how her mother, Hema Malini, represented the family at the ceremony while her younger sister Ahana Deol stood there on behalf of all six of Dharmendra’s children. Ahana reportedly became emotional during the announcement of her father’s name and was seen applauding proudly during the ceremony alongside her husband Vaibhav Vohra.

Hema Malini, too, later expressed her emotions about the unforgettable moment. The actress described feeling Dharmendra’s comforting presence beside her as she walked toward the stage to receive the honour. The ceremony became not just a celebration of cinematic excellence but also a deeply personal and emotional tribute to one of Indian cinema’s greatest legends.

Fondly known as Bollywood’s original “He-Man,” Dharmendra enjoyed a career spanning more than six decades. With his charming smile, powerful screen presence, action-packed roles, and memorable romantic performances, he became one of the most beloved stars in Hindi cinema history. Films featuring the legendary actor continue to remain iconic across generations, making his legacy timeless.

The Padma Vibhushan recognition serves as yet another reminder of Dharmendra’s unmatched contribution to Indian cinema. While the actor may no longer be physically present, his influence, legacy, and memories continue to live on through his family, fans, and the countless films that made him a superstar.
