Oscilloscope Labs has unveiled the official trailer for The Kidnapping of Arabella, the latest feature from acclaimed Italian filmmaker Carolina Cavalli. Following the success of her previous work, Cavalli returns with another distinctive and emotionally layered story that blends drama, self-discovery, and a touch of magical thinking. The film is set to arrive in theaters on July 17, 2026.
At the center of the story is Holly, played by Benedetta Porcaroli, a young woman stuck in a dead-end job and consumed by the belief that she is living the wrong version of her life. She spends her days fantasizing about alternate realities, wondering where things went off track and imagining countless paths she could have taken. Her outlook changes when she crosses paths with Arabella, an outspoken and rebellious eight-year-old girl portrayed by Lucrezia Guglielmino.
What begins as a chance encounter quickly turns into something far more meaningful in Holly's mind. Convinced that their meeting is a cosmic sign, she starts believing that Arabella is actually her younger self sent back through time to offer her a second chance.
