Samay Raina’s controversial comedy show India’s Got Latent has once again found itself at the centre of a fresh complaint. This time, a complaint has reportedly been filed against casting director Mukesh Chhabra and Netflix India over allegedly inappropriate and sexually suggestive language used during an episode of the show. The complaint was filed by Anurag Shrivastav, who has sought an investigation into the matter and questioned how such content was permitted to be streamed on the platform.
According to the complaint, Anurag Shrivastav arrived in Mumbai on the evening of September 22, 2026, and was watching Netflix on his laptop from his hotel room when he came across an episode of India’s Got Latent. The episode featured an interesting panel comprising actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, actor and YouTuber Bhuvan Bam, casting director Mukesh Chhabra and stand-up comedian Kaustubh Agarwal, with Samay Raina hosting the show.
The complainant has alleged that while watching the episode, he came across statements that he considered objectionable and socially inappropriate. The complaint specifically refers to an alleged statement attributed to Mukesh Chhabra, who was appearing as a panel member on the episode. The statement mentioned in the complaint contains sexually suggestive and abusive language, which the complainant has described as highly inappropriate for viewers.
Importantly, the complaint itself states that the authenticity of the alleged statement, the identification of the voice or person, the complete context and the exact timestamp should be verified from the original and unedited recording. This means the allegation remains subject to verification and investigation. The complainant has argued that if the statement is established as authentic and is viewed in its complete context, it raises questions about the nature of content being made available to audiences on a major streaming platform.
The complaint has also questioned Netflix India’s role in allowing the episode to remain available on its platform. An investigation into the role of Netflix India content chief Monika Shergill has reportedly been sought as part of the complaint. The complainant has raised concerns regarding the platform’s content review process and what standards are applied before episodes containing potentially objectionable language are made available to viewers, including younger audiences.
India’s Got Latent has previously been at the centre of a major controversy. In February 2025, an episode featuring content creator and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia triggered widespread backlash following his remarks involving parents and sex. The controversy resulted in intense public discussion around humour, free expression, online content and the responsibility of creators and platforms. With the latest complaint, the show has once again become a talking point, although the current allegations will need to be established through proper verification and any relevant investigation before conclusions can be drawn.
