Netflix has dropped the gripping trailer for Baramulla, a supernatural thriller that promises to blur the lines between myth and reality. Directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale and created by Aditya Dhar, the film is a chilling descent into the unseen world that thrives in the misty valleys of Kashmir. Produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Baramulla stars Manav Kaul and Bhasha Sambil in what’s shaping up to be one of the most atmospheric Indian thrillers of the year.
The story follows DSP Ridwaan Shafi Sayyid (Manav Kaul), a stern yet tormented police officer sent to investigate a series of mysterious child disappearances in the small town of Baramulla. What begins as a procedural case soon spirals into something far more sinister. As Ridwaan moves into the valley with his wife Gulnar (Bhasha Sambil) and their two children, Noorie (Arista Mehta) and Ayaan (Rohaan Singh), their new home becomes the epicenter of eerie, inexplicable events — whispers in the dark, unseen footsteps, and shadows that seem to breathe.
Rooted deeply in the folklore and spiritual texture of Kashmir, Baramulla uses the region’s haunting beauty as both a backdrop and a character. It’s not just a tale of fear — it’s a meditation on faith, trauma, and the invisible forces that bind people to their pasts. The screenplay by Aditya Suhas Jambhale and Monal Thakar combines the psychological edge of modern horror with the poetic stillness of Kashmiri myths, creating an experience that’s equal parts spine-chilling and soulful.
With Manav Kaul’s trademark intensity anchoring the narrative and Bhasha Sambil bringing emotional depth to the story’s eerie domestic sphere, Baramulla looks poised to deliver a layered, mature horror experience that’s rare in Indian cinema. Backed by the creative vision of Aditya Dhar — known for blending genre storytelling with emotional depth — the film carries an unmistakable cinematic gravitas.
Set to premiere exclusively on Netflix on November 7, Baramulla marks the second collaboration between Netflix, Jio Studios, and B62 Studios after the success of Doom Daham. This time, the team ventures into darker, more mysterious territory — where faith and fear collide, and every whisper in the mist might just be calling your name.
