Paramount Pictures has unveiled the final official trailer for Roofman, the captivating new true-crime drama directed by Derek Cianfrance, set to hit theaters on October 10, 2025. The film boasts a powerhouse cast led by Channing Tatum alongside Kirsten Dunst, Ben Mendelsohn, LaKeith Stanfield, Juno Temple, Melonie Diaz, Uzo Aduba, Lily Collias, Jimmy O Yang, and Peter Dinklage.
Based on the unbelievable true story of Jeffrey Manchester, the film follows the life of a former Army Ranger and struggling father who earns the nickname “Roofman” after a string of daring McDonald’s robberies carried out by cutting holes through their roofs. Tatum’s portrayal of Manchester captures a mix of charm, desperation, and cunning as the character attempts to navigate a precarious double life.
After a dramatic prison escape, Manchester goes underground — quite literally — living undetected inside a Toys “R” Us for six months while meticulously plotting his next move. But when he meets Leigh (played by Kirsten Dunst), a divorced mother drawn to his unpredictable allure, his carefully kept secrets begin to slip. This sets off an emotional and thrilling game of cat and mouse, with his past catching up to him in dangerous ways.
Director Derek Cianfrance, known for Blue Valentine and The Place Beyond the Pines, infuses Roofman with a signature blend of emotional depth and tension, crafting a story that’s as much about human vulnerability as it is about daring crimes. The screenplay, co-written by Cianfrance and Kirt Gunn, promises a compelling mixture of romance, suspense, and character-driven drama.
With its release just days away, Roofman is shaping up to be one of the fall’s must-see films, offering audiences an adrenaline-fueled yet emotionally charged journey into one of the most bizarre true crime stories in modern history.
