Black Bear Pictures has unveiled the second trailer for Christy, a sports drama chronicling the life of Christy Martin, the trailblazing female boxer who dominated the 1990s.
The film stars Sydney Sweeney as Christy Martin, alongside Ben Foster, David Michôd, Merritt Wever, Katy O’Brian, Ethan Embry, Jess Gabor, Chad Coleman, Bryan Hibbard, and Gilbert Cruz.
The story follows Christy Martin, a small-town West Virginia native who discovers an extraordinary talent for boxing. Guided by her trainer and manager-turned-husband, Jim (Ben Foster), she rises to fame in the male-dominated world of professional boxing.
While her ferocity in the ring earns her legendary status, her greatest challenges unfold outside the ropes, as she confronts family conflicts, personal identity struggles, and a relationship that threatens her life. Based on true events, Christy is a gripping tale of resilience, courage, and the fight to reclaim one’s life.
Directed by David Michôd, the screenplay is co-written by Michôd and Mirrah Foulkes, with the story by Katherine Fugate. Christy is slated for release on November 7, 2025, and promises a compelling mix of high-stakes sports action and deeply personal drama.
