Aahana S Kumra is no stranger to transformation. From strong dramatic roles to offbeat indie gems, she’s carved a space in Indian cinema that’s refreshingly unpredictable. But now, the actress is venturing into completely new territory: reality TV. Set to make her debut with Rise and Fall, Aahana is bringing her fearless spirit and authentic self to a show that promises high stakes, social dynamics, and zero filters.
Originally, her heart was set on Khatron Ke Khiladi. “I love adventure sports,” she says, “and Khatron is the best thing for that—you get paid to do it!” Unfortunately, this year’s season was shelved, and just when she thought the dream had to wait yet again, a different call came through. It was from a close friend and casting director inviting her to meet the team of Rise and Fall. One meeting later, and she was hooked. “It's the first time they’re doing this show in India,” she shares. “And it's also my first time doing any reality format. That excited me.”
But don’t let the cameras fool you—this isn’t just another glammed-up game show. Rise and Fall traps 16 contestants in a captive, socially-strategic setup where dynamics shift daily and alliances are tested. For someone like Aahana, who thrives on connection, the idea of isolation from friends and family is daunting. “I’m addicted to being in touch with my people,” she admits. “Just being cut off from everyone sounds very challenging. But I want to see how persistent I can be. That’s what pulled me in.”
She’ll be joined by an eclectic cast that includes Arjun Bijlani, Kiku Sharda, Kubbra Sait, Dhanashree Verma, Arbaz Patel, Aarush Bhola, and Nayandeep Rakshit. And to top it off, the show is hosted by none other than Shark Tank India’s famously blunt Ashneer Grover—so we can expect no sugar-coating, on or off screen. With 16 unique personalities vying for a “rise” to the top, drama is guaranteed.
Streaming from September 6, Rise and Fall is shaping up to be more than just a competition—it’s a social experiment, a personal journey, and for Aahana S Kumra, a leap into the unknown. And knowing her, she’s not just jumping—she’s diving in, headfirst.
