It’s been six years since Chhichhore hit the big screen, but if you’ve ever screamed “HBC!” in a hostel corridor or cried over a group reunion scene, you know it feels like yesterday. On the 6th anniversary of the film, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment took to their X (formerly Twitter) profile and shared a heartfelt video post. Captioned with a tribute to late-night hostel chats, heartbreaks, and life lessons, the post was a nostalgic rewind that had fans both smiling and tearing up.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Chhichhore wasn’t just another college drama—it was an emotional rollercoaster disguised as a comedy. Inspired by Tiwari’s own days at IIT Bombay, the film captured the messy, beautiful chaos of youth. It traveled from the carefree '90s to the emotional present day, and in doing so, it bridged generations. With themes of failure, resilience, and friendship, the movie managed to pull off the rare feat of being both hilarious and deeply moving.
At its heart, Chhichhore belongs to its incredible cast—led by the late Sushant Singh Rajput, whose portrayal of Anni still echoes in our hearts. Alongside him were Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Naveen Polishetty (marking his Hindi debut), Tushar Pandey, and Saharsh Kumar Shukla. Their chemistry was so organic, it felt less like acting and more like watching old friends argue over Maggi and lost cricket matches.
The film didn’t just tug at heartstrings—it broke box office records too, earning over ₹203 crores globally. But more than numbers, it gave us quotes we use even today (“Zindagi jeene ke do tareeke hote hain…”), characters that became icons (hello, Sexa!), and a haunting reminder that success and failure are never the whole story.
So today, as we celebrate #6YearsOfChhichhore, we don’t just look back at a film. We remember a feeling—a time, a memory, a friend we haven’t called in a while. Maybe it’s time to fix that. Pick up the phone. Rewatch the movie. And laugh, cry, and cheer—just like we did six years ago.
